Rental Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are

Phone and WhatsApp: +357 95 777 070 (24/7). In these terms "we" is the Company and "you" is the person who books and rents the car.

By completing a booking and paying you accept these terms. At handover you also sign a rental agreement for the specific vehicle; where the signed agreement and these terms differ, the signed agreement prevails.

2. Booking and confirmation

The minimum rental period is 3 days. Rental days are counted in 24-hour periods from the agreed handover time.

A booking becomes binding once the full rental price is paid by card. Until then the vehicle is not held for you.

Prices are shown in euro (EUR) and include VAT and the insurance level you selected. Mileage within the Republic of Cyprus is unlimited.

3. Driver requirements

The minimum age is 21 and the driver must have held a valid driving licence for at least 3 years.

Drivers aged 21 to 24 must add the Young Driver option, charged per rental day at the price shown when you book.

At handover you present a valid driving licence and a passport or ID card. A licence not issued in the Latin alphabet must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit.

Only drivers named in the rental agreement may drive the vehicle. Additional drivers must meet the same requirements and be registered before the handover.

4. Prices, payment and extras

The full rental price is paid in advance by bank card through Viva Payments. We never receive or store your full card details.

Insurance levels: BASIC, COMFORT and MAX. The price of each level is shown when you book, before you pay, and is included in the amount charged. Theft protection is included at every level; roadside assistance is included with COMFORT and MAX.

Extras: the baby seat, the booster seat and the Young Driver option are charged per rental day; the Northern Cyprus travel permit is a one-time charge of 100 EUR. The price of every extra is shown when you book.

Anything not listed in your booking confirmation — fuel, fines, tolls, additional cleaning — is charged separately.

5. Security deposit and excess

With BASIC and COMFORT insurance a refundable security deposit of 300 EUR is taken at handover. With MAX insurance no deposit is required.

The deposit is returned within 14 days after the vehicle is returned, less any amount due for damage, missing fuel, fines or additional cleaning.

The excess is the maximum you pay for a single damage event: 2000 EUR with BASIC, 1000 EUR with COMFORT, 500 EUR with MAX.

6. Delivery, handover and return

You may collect the car at our office at Anton Tsechof 27, Limassol 3048, Cyprus, at a time agreed in advance.

We also deliver and collect the car at Larnaca Airport, at Paphos Airport and at any other address in Cyprus, at a time agreed with you. Any delivery fee is agreed before payment and stated in your booking confirmation.

The car is handed over clean and with a full tank; it must be returned in the same condition. Fuel policy is full-to-full.

Handover and return are documented in a condition report signed by both sides. Please allow 15–20 minutes for the check.

A return delay of up to 59 minutes is free of charge; after that a further full rental day is charged.

7. Cancellation, changes and refunds

Cancellation 48 hours or more before the agreed handover time: full refund of everything you paid.

Cancellation less than 48 hours before handover: we retain the price of one rental day and refund the rest.

No-show — if you do not appear within 2 hours of the agreed handover time and have not contacted us — the booking is cancelled, we retain the price of one rental day and refund the rest.

Early return: unused days are not refunded, unless the early return is caused by a fault of ours or by a vehicle defect that is not your responsibility.

Changes to dates, vehicle or extras are free of charge 48 hours or more before handover, subject to availability; a price difference is payable or refunded accordingly.

If we cannot provide the booked vehicle, you may choose a replacement of the same or a higher class at no extra cost, or a full refund.

The Northern Cyprus travel permit (100 EUR) is non-refundable once it has been issued.

Refunds are made to the same bank card through Viva Payments within 14 days of the cancellation; your bank usually credits the amount within 5–10 business days.

Please note that EU consumer law on distance contracts does not grant a 14-day right of withdrawal for vehicle rental services provided on a specific date (Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU). The cancellation rules above apply instead.

8. Fuel, fines, damage and breakdowns

Missing fuel is charged at the local pump price plus the refuelling service fee stated in the rental agreement.

Traffic fines, parking charges and tolls incurred during your rental are your responsibility, together with the administrative fee for processing them stated in the rental agreement.

Any accident, theft or damage must be reported to us immediately on the number above and to the police. Without a police report the insurance may refuse cover and you may be liable for the full amount of the damage.

In case of a breakdown, call us before arranging any repair or towing yourself. Repairs made without our written approval are not reimbursed.

9. How the vehicle may be used

Travel to Northern Cyprus is only permitted with the travel permit (100 EUR) arranged in advance. Driving there without it voids the insurance and makes you liable for all damage.

The vehicle may not be used for racing or driving instruction, off-road, for towing, for transporting goods or passengers for hire, or to push or tow another vehicle.

Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that impairs driving, and handing the car to a person not named in the agreement, void the insurance cover.

Smoking in the vehicle is not allowed. Pets are welcome in a carrier. Smoking or heavy soiling is charged as additional cleaning.

10. Liability, complaints and applicable law

We are not responsible for personal belongings left in the vehicle, or for indirect losses such as missed flights or changed travel plans.

Complaints: write to hello@vr.auto. We reply within 14 days. If we cannot settle the complaint, you may contact the Cyprus Consumer Protection Service (consumer.gov.cy).

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus; the courts of Limassol have jurisdiction. Your mandatory rights as a consumer are not affected.
